Fox, the singer, dancer, star and judge on TV's “American Idol,” has filed a sexual assault lawsuit against the show's producer, Nigel Lithgow. And twice, because he allegedly assaulted her again while they were working on another program.
Paula Abdul, who rose to fame as a chart-topping singer in the late 1980s, alleged in a lawsuit filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court that a producer assaulted her in an elevator during one of the first seasons of the television singing show “American.” Idol” (the program debuted in 2002). According to the lawsuit, she immediately notified her representatives about the situation, but took no legal action for fear of losing her job.

“Paula and I have been friends for over twenty years and are completely platonic friends and colleagues. However, I have now suddenly learned of these claims from the press, and I want to make it clear: they are not only false, they are. It's deeply offensive to me and everything I stand for,” Lithgow denied.
Another alleged attack happened later in 2014 when they collaborated on another show, So You Think You Can Dance. Now the 61-year-old star has returned to the peak of popularity thanks to the speeches of the judges.
Despite the previous situation, Paula Abdul accepted the producer's invitation to her home. Lithgow, now 74, allegedly attacked her on the sofa. The lawsuit also states that Abdul also witnessed Nigel Lithgow assault one of his assistants.
Paula Abdul was a judge on “American Idol” from 2002 to 2009.
