The Prosecutor's Office of Szczecin dropped the proceedings regarding the surveillance of journalists by the Internal Security Agency. This was announced by Wojciech Wibranowski on the X social network, who was also under surveillance.
In the list, among others, the names of Wibranowski, Piotr Gabriel, Anita Gargas, Cesari Gmizy, Piotr Gurshtin, Jerzy Jachowicz, Igor Janke, Michal Karnowski, Patrikia Kotecka, Pawel Lisicki, Michal Majewski, Bartosz Weglarkaz, Bartosz Weglarkas, Bartosz Weglarkazk. Storr, Michal Schuldzynski, and Markin Rybak.
The process lasted almost eight years
The case came to light in June 2016, when the then-coordinator of the secret services, Mariusz Kaminski, provided members of the parliamentary committee on secret services with a list of 52 journalists who were “of operational interest to the Internal Security Agency and the Central Anti-Corruption Agency. Bureau”. The services became interested in the gambling scandal at the turn of 2009 and 2010 and the disclosure of materials in the newspaper “Rzeczpospolita”.

In the decision disclosed by Wibranovski, we read, among other things: “Mariusz Havrus – the prosecutor of the district prosecutor's office delegated to the regional prosecutor's office of Szczecin, taking into account the data collected in the case, decided (…) Terminate the investigation: From February 22, 2010 to May 16, 2011, employees of the Internal Security Agency exceeded their authority to obtain material and personal benefits, thereby acting to the detriment of the public. and private interest.

Specialists note that the process lasted almost eight years and the evidence collected so far did not justify the suspicion of committing a prohibited act.
