“We must respond to the latest attack on Ukraine in a language that Putin understands: by tightening sanctions so he can't build new weapons from smuggled components and by giving Kiev long-range missiles that would allow him to destroy launch and command centers.” Sikorsky wrote with reference to the Platform X. series Russian air strikes on KievKharkiv and several other cities of Ukraine.
Among others, Russian forces used: hypersonic daggers. Most of the missiles and drones were shot down by Ukrainian air defenses, but the impact was so strong that many residential buildings and infrastructure were damaged. The attacks killed four people and injured at least 92.
Poland's new foreign minister published the post in English, indicating that he was addressing mainly Western decision-makers.
Sedov: We only ask for military assistance
Lviv Mayor Andrey Sadov welcomed the politician's statement. – This is the moment in our life when democracy or totalitarian systems will win. There is a war in Europe for the second year, people die every day, we know that. Russia is planning to attack more European countries, because they have to do it – they have this policy, philosophy, because it is a terrorist state, – said the mayor of Lviv.
Sedoy also expressed his displeasure with Western policies, which, in his opinion, do not support Ukraine enough. – This is today's reality. Putin feels a different power today because the West has not done what it should have done, he said. As he noted, the fact is that some of the Russian drones, missiles and other military components come from the West.
He also maintained that Putin must be stopped by force, as this would be impossible to achieve diplomatically. – Only military force can change something, because various guarantees do not work here. Ukrainians have power, we feel this global responsibility. We must fight, fight. The only thing we are asking for is military aid so that fewer people die and give Russia a heavy blow to the head, said the mayor of Lviv.
Mayor of Lviv: Ukraine needs social mobilization
The conversation also touched on the issue of expanding conscription in Ukraine. Currently, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the local parliament A draft law on military mobilization is being prepared.
Sedoy explained that Ukraine is not going to allow anyone to join the army. In this context, he noted that everyone can support the fight in a different way, and in this sense, the Ukrainian army counts “not 700,000, but 40 million people.”
– There is no point in taking a person who does not want to fight. He can do other things. Without business, without the economy, there can be no victory, so some are at the front, and others are working, Sadovy said.
Zelensky: mobilize all efforts
Similarly President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced this a few days ago. “Mobilization is not just a matter of soldiers going to the front. It concerns everyone. It is a mobilization of all efforts. It is the only way to protect our country and stop the occupation of our land,” he said. New Year's interview for the Economist.
In this conversation, Zelensky said that Russia is a threat to NATO. “Putin feels weakness like an animal, because he is an animal. He smells blood, he feels his power. And he will eat you for dinner with the whole EU, NATO, freedom and democracy.”
