Slovenia's 30-year-old Ziga Dimec is returning to Anvil Wlocslavek, who are currently leading the Basketball League table, the club announced. The Slovenian center, European champion and Tokyo Olympian played 27 matches for the Kujavi team in the 2021/22 season.

He averaged 10.5 points and 4.9 rebounds and won the bronze medal of the Polish Championship with Anvil. He went from the Polish league to the Japanese team – Nishinomiya Storks. Recently, he played in the second league of Turkey (Mersin BBGSK).

1. Transfer to the club from Warsaw!

Przemysław Frasunkiewicz, the coach of Anwil (14-1 record), decided that a well-rounded midfielder would be a valuable addition to the team.

– Strong, tenacious, makes great covers, finishes well in the paint position… When he joined us two years ago, he filled some gaps and allowed us to expand our repertoire. We decided that we needed to strengthen the area under the basket and added, among other things: size and muscle, but rather quality. Anyone but Ziga has it all. It's a big advantage that the Slovenian knows our tactics and offensive-defensive principles, so the adaptation process should go smoothly – at this stage of the season, it's a very important issue, Frasunkiewicz told kkwloclawek.pl.

Dimetz was also a participant in EuroBasket 2022, in which the Poles defeated the defending champion Slovenia in the quarterfinals. He also played at the 2023 World Cup – where his team finished seventh.
