Adam Giza: Public media change was necessary
Adam Giza, a presenter associated with the channel since 2017, has now spoken about the changes at TVP. The journalist made his debut in the program “Good morning, Poland!” on TVP1. Since March 2018, she has been co-hosting the program “The Day is Coming” on TVP Info with Anna Popek. In turn, during the coronavirus pandemic, he was the face of the “Koronavirus Poradnik” format, which was very popular. From June 1, 2023, Adam Giza is the presenter of TVP2 of the TV company “Panorama”.
In an interview with “Fakt”, the presenter admitted that the change in public media was “necessary, because we really had to think about how to separate the world of political influence from the world of journalism.”
– As for the form, how it was done, I think it could have been done more softly and there would probably be less controversy afterwards. However, the change was, of course, necessary to get a new form and return to the world of journalism textbooks – without influence, pressure and political games in news outlets – he said.
Behind the scenes at Woronicza. TVP Anchor: Tension, Stress and Gossip
Giza also revealed behind-the-scenes footage of the last days on Polish television.
– Every change causes some emotional tension, stress and some rumours. As is typical in show business, there is often unverified information in the corridor. In fact the atmosphere inside was such that one person told another something like: you don't work tomorrow and you don't work the day after, he said.
He also admitted that he is not sure about his future in the television company, but hopes that he will be able to keep his job at TVP.
What awaits his work in the media?
– As for myself, I still don't know what my future is. Of course, I am ready to continue with the medical programs and all other commissioned programs. If someone suggests me, emphasize. He also emphasized that he is not closed to proposals from competing stations and is happy to pass on their ideas.
He also complained about the hatred directed at TVP anchors.
– I am a bit surprised that the public tries to create such hatred towards the presenters or presenters, as if they were responsible for all the content and messages that are transmitted. And that's not true, because all you have to do is work in a newsroom and you know that the anchor in the final stage is actually a paying face, gaining popularity and being subject to hate, he said.
