The event, broadcast by Polsat and Polsat Sport, will be the culmination of the 89th edition of Przegląd Sportowy and Polsat Plebiscite for the best sportsman in Poland.

Traditionally, the warm-up before the Sports Champions Gala will be the Polsat Sport studio, which will start working at 19:00. The guests of Przemysław Ivanczyk and Paulina Szarnota-Boyarska will be the most important representatives of Polish sports, who will predict the potential results of the plebiscite until the last minute. Polsat Sport's reporting team will work at the same time. On Saturday evening, Marcin Lepa, Aleksandra Schottenberg and Božena Piechko will talk to the main characters, that is, the athletes nominated for the plebiscite.

At 20:00 Sports Champions Gala will be broadcast on Polsat Sport and main Polsat. The presenters of the event will be Paulina Čilewska and Jerzy Mielewski, as well as Aldona Marciniak and Lukasz Kadziewicz. Before the audience hears the name of the best Polish athlete of 2023, many awards will be presented, such as coach of the year, team of the year, sports event of the year or super champion, which rewards not only outstanding achievements but also a unique attitude. The organizers of Sports Champions Gala make sure that every edition of this prestigious event brings something new. In the extremely important year in which the Summer Olympic Games will be held, the special category “Olympic Hope Paris 2024” could not be missed. Traditionally, this special sports evening was honored with performances by the stars of the Polish music scene. On Saturday, January 6, the audience of the Sports Champions Gala will be accompanied by artists – Natalya Schroeder and Krzysztof Zalewski, who have prepared something specially for this occasion.

Candidates for the title of Poland's best athlete of 2023 were representatives of several disciplines. Magdalena Stysiak and Alexander Sliwka are the stars of the Polish women's and men's volleyball teams. Both of our teams went to the Olympic Games, the last time that happened 16 years ago. In addition, our volleyball players won the European Championship and League of Nations gold, and women's volleyball players won bronze medals at the League of Nations. Last year also entered the history of Polish tennis. Iga Svichtek maintained his position as the leader of the world ranking and won 6 tournaments, including one Grand Slam. Magda Linet reached the semi-finals of a Grand Slam for the first time in her career, while Hubert Hurkac was uncontested at the Marseille tournament and the prestigious Shanghai Masters competition. Speedway rider Bartosz Zmarzlik, on the other hand, won virtually everything he had to win last season, including his fourth individual world title. Mateusz Ponitka has been the driving force behind the Polish national basketball team for years and played an important role in the Reds and Whites winning the right to participate in the Olympic qualification tournament. In the last twelve months, Natalia Kaczmarek, Wojciech Nowicki and Eva Svoboda (athletics), David Kubak and Piotr Žila (ski jumping), Adrian Meronki (golf), Robert Lewandowski (soccer) and other athletes have been nominated for the title.
