“What do you think President Andrzej Duda is leading in his relationship with Donald Tusk's government?” – asked the survey participants of SW Research during the survey for the rp.pl portal.
Most of the respondents – 44.6 percent – chose the answer “in the interests of PiS”. 20.4 percent of respondents noted that President Andrzej Duda v Relations with the government Donald Tusk leads with “Polish interests”. 16.9 percent of the respondents believe that the head of state is guided by “the interests of both PiS and Poland.” 18.1 percent of the respondents have no opinion on this issue.
– The president considers the interests of PiS first, according to almost every second person over the age of 50 and more than half of the respondents with higher education. Depending on the amount of income, this opinion is most often shared by people whose income ranges from PLN 2,001 to PLN 3,000 net (53%). In relations with the new government, Andrzej Duda leads with the kindness of PiS, according to every second inhabitant of cities with a population of 100-199 thousand. The survey was conducted on December 27-29, 2023, the analysis included a group of 800 Internet users over the age of 18.
President Duda's New Year's address
We remind you that on December 31, Andrzej Duda issued a New Year's message. The President spoke about the most important challenges facing Poland in 2024. – We are dealing with a new situation in Polish politics. The president and the government are from different political camps. This is normal in a democracy. But in a democratic country, the constitution, the rule of law and good political customs must be respected. Unfortunately, in recent days, the government coalition trying to take over the public media has violated these rules. For the first time in free Poland since 1989, there was an attempt to take over public media by force, the head of state said.
– Successive announcements of making important decisions by the resolutions of the Parliament cause serious concern. (…) I call on the government coalition to start protecting the principles of the democratic rule of law and respect citizens, regardless of their political views.
