In recent days, thanks to the statements of the guests of the “Republic” TV company, the TV company received a wave of criticism. First one Jan Pietrzak's words caused outrage, who spoke on television about the actions of the German government regarding the reception of illegal migrants. – The Germans hope that the Poles are ready, because we have barracks. We have barracks for immigrants in Auschwitz, Majdanek, Treblinka, Štutovo. Here we have many barracks built by the Germans, said the satirist.

Then, publicist Marek Krol suggested on the air of “Republica TV” that migrants arriving in Europe should have “chips” or tattoos with numbers. On his part, Kukiz'15 MP Marek Jakubiak compared migrants to “unnecessary waste”.

The IKEA chain of stores and mBank announced about the announcements TV company “Republica” to remove advertisements. Provident, Media Expert, Adamed Pharma, Pyszne.pl, Tarczyński and Żabka said they were following in the footsteps of IKEA and mBank. Otodom, which belongs to OLX Group, is planning a similar move.

Sakievich: The accusation of anti-Semitism affected me the most

The editor-in-chief of “Gazeta Polska” and “Republika” TV station Tomas Sakievich commented. “I have to admit that among the lies spread on our channel, the accusation of anti-Semitism hurt me the most. In the media I manage, we have always fought anti-Semitism as part of Polish patriotic tradition. I was one of the few who openly said that Israel was the victim in the last war, condemned the terrorists of Hamas and criticized the European left for supporting the aggressors. I criticized Jan Pietrzak's statement as soon as possible precisely because someone might use it to incriminate us. Such inclinations, although I know that his intentions were different. We strongly distance ourselves from Marek Krol's statement, because one cannot talk about any person in a dehumanizing way,” he wrote on the social network.

“We have no influence on what people from different sides of the debate scene will say, but we have our view, which comes from the tradition of tolerance of the First Polish Republic. Of course, I have no doubt that the attack on us is a further part of Colonel Sienkiewicz's operation, which is only an attempt to use the unreasonable statements of the people participating in the debate,” Sakiewicz said.
