The derby in the capital of Great Poland was very interesting, sometimes quite exciting, but Warciers clearly won. Already in the first minute, Mateusz Stotko scored a penalty kick for Polytechnic, and the “Greens” managed to turn almost every situation into a goal. The University of Technology played the entire fourth quarter without a goaltender, but that too had no effect. The hero of the match was Valdemar Rataj, Varta's most experienced player, who scored seven of his team's nine goals.

– After the defeat in Toruń, we felt a little dissatisfied, we lost there 9:10. And today we showed that we count in the fight for a medal. Of course, we took more chances, even less clear ones, but the hall has the advantage of scoring spectacular goals. However, we must also be concentrated so as not to lose these goals, – said Ratai after the match.
As he added, in the current season, with such an even playing field, almost any team can become the champion of Poland.
– Anyone can beat anyone. The top six teams will advance to the playoffs, and virtually any of those six teams can win the Polish championship. And we're going to play for it, he noted.
Despite the defeat, the head of the Technological University, Dariusz Rachwalski, did not feel much disappointment.
– I am satisfied with the match, of course, not with the result, but with our game and the dedication with which we fought until the end. We created many chances, but we were unsuccessful. We missed the penalty, we had many chances, but Varta is known for very dangerous counterattacks. The first three goals were scored after interceptions and counterattacks. The biggest concern for me is not the defeat, but the injury of our goalkeeper, Sebastian Gorn – summed up the coach, who is the team manager at the same time.
