Last year there was no shortage of great sports emotions. The achievements of Polish athletes have been summed up at the 2024 Sports Champions Gala, the ceremony being preceded by several weeks of voting by the readers of “Przegląd Sportowy”. The highlight of this important ceremony was the announcement of the name of the person who, according to the voters, had the most spectacular achievements and best represented Poland on the international stage.

Nikola Grbich was named the best coach of the year, coach of the Polish volleyball team. In turn, the team of the year Polish national volleyball team. In the category Sport without barriers, Witold Skupien won. It was named the sports initiative of the year Diamond League Kamila Skolimowska Memorial. He received the super champion award Jakub Blaszczykowski. He became an Olympic hope for Paris 2024 Adriana Kakol.
Iwona Budzik-Pietruška, Jan Sturch and Vaclav Šukiel received a scholarship from the Minister of Sports and Tourism from Slavomir Nitras. Children and youth sports award was given to Orlen.
Iga Svichtek was named the best athlete of the year.
The top ten athletes also included: Bartosz Zmarzlik, Aleksandr Slivka, Natalya Kaczmarek, Piotr Žila, Wojciech Nowicki, Hubert Hurkac, Martina Klatt and Helena Wisniewska, Renata Knapik-Miazga, Martina-Veskaov Svangato. Ska and Adrian Meronki.
An exciting speech by Kuba Blaszchikovsky
The speech of Kuba Blaszczykovski, who received the Superchampion statue, caused a great stir at the Sports Champions Gala. After the words spoken from the stage, many people in the audience had a hard time holding back tears. The wife of the former player of the Polish national team was also visibly moved.
– I wanted to dedicate this statue to a person who neither attended my match nor watched my match live, but I believe that the “Niebo” sector always supported me. Mom, this is for you, he said, his voice trailing off.
