36-year-old Rudy was announced as the coach of “White Star” at the end of last year. He arrived in Krakow on Saturday and started work on Sunday.
1. The dramatic situation of the Polish club! mortal condition
Wisla's entrustment of a little-known coach to Girona, who had previously managed two clubs on his own – LD Alajuelense from Costa Rica, with whom he won the second-place title in the country, and CD Castellon from Spain (a losing battle for promotion to the 2nd division) – caused much controversy. Recruitment for this position was carried out in an unusual way, using artificial intelligence, that is, multi-faceted data analysis. At the initial stage, about 5000 candidates from all over the world were considered. This system of recruiting coaches and players is the brainchild of the club's president, Jaroslaw Krolewski, who is the owner of Synerise, a company that deals with the use of artificial intelligence in many areas of life.
Brut, who was forced to end his football career at the age of 24, thoroughly prepared for the coaching profession and is a supporter of using modern IT solutions in football. He received his PhD from the Central University of Catalonia. He also created his own school that teaches trainers based on advanced training methods. He is the author of books and publications on the processes of building modern football teams. For several years he was a member of Diego Martín Alonso's coaching staff at leading Mexican clubs and Inter Miami, owned by David Beckham.
“His profile is in line with how we perceive the vision of the club in terms of knowledge aspects. Personally, I believe it will be a project lasting half a year and will certainly end with promotion to the top league,” he said. Royal President presenting the new coach.
Rude knows the challenge that awaits him.
“Wisla is a big club. A giant that needs to wake up. I am happy to be here and I hope we will do great things together,” he said.
The Spaniard defined himself as a proponent of attacking football, based on keeping the ball and if he loses it, he tries to win it back as quickly as possible.
“I want to play in attack, but tactically we will adapt to the opponent and the conditions of the match. We can play with three or four defenders, one or two strikers. Everything will be subject to the results, because they are the most important,” he announced.
Mariusz Jopp, who managed Wisla in the last three matches of last year, remained in the coaching staff after the resignation of Radoslaw Sobolewski. Kazimierz Kmiecik, Michal Siwierski and physical training coach Kazimierz Piechnik will continue to work with Rudd. New faces include Spain's Eric Lira Fernandez and goalkeeping coach Lukasz Zaluska, a former Wisla player.
Brute is pleased with the fact that he didn't have to build his headquarters from scratch.
“They know the league and the team very well. I will learn from them. This staff has already done a great job here and I am sure that our mix can be successful. We can do it together,” he assured.
Wisla football players started preparing for the new round. For now, they will train at their center in Myślenice. From January 20 to February 3, they will be in the Turkish camp. The Krakow team is in 5th place in the first league table with 31 points.
