Bloomberg reports about the meeting. On December 16, secret talks between national security advisers were held in Saudi Arabia. “This followed wider public meetings aimed at Moscow's efforts to divide and portray Ukraine and its allies. Negotiations on the end of the war” – we are reading.

“The secrecy served to make the participating countries feel more comfortable in each other's presence. The participants explained that the small format allows for a freer and more frank discussion about the so-called peace formula, plans for the continuation of this process, and the principles of potential. Future negotiations with Russia,” reported Bloomberg .

There will be no peace talks yet

It is important that neither this meeting nor the previous consultations brought any visible progress. Sources with knowledge of the details say Ukraine and its G7 partners continue to resist calls from the Global South to enter direct talks with Moscow.

While senior officials from India, Saudi Arabia and Turkey joined the December meeting in Riyadh, other major Global South countries that have attended some previous key sessions – including China, Brazil and the United Arab Emirates – did not send representatives.

Kyiv and its G7 partners reaffirmed their position that a just peace must respect Ukraine's territorial integrity and sovereignty. These countries emphasize that Russian President Vladimir Putin's goals have not changed, he shows no serious willingness to engage in constructive negotiations and does not respect previous agreements.

Ukraine's allies have sent a clear signal that they will continue to support Ukraine, and the EU and US have expressed confidence that the support packages will be approved.

Ukraine and its partners have planned another meeting of the expanded advisory group in Switzerland next week, on the eve of the World Economic Forum in Davos, and have invited more than 100 countries to participate. Previous meetings were held last year in Copenhagen, Jeddah and Malta.
