Negotiations with Russia
It took place last month secret meeting Ukrainian authorities together with G7 allies and representatives of countries of the Global South. According to Bloomberg sources, Kiev wanted to get support for the terms of peace talks with Russia.
The meeting was supposed to take place on December 16 in Saudi Arabia. Italian Defense Minister Guido Crozzetto said the time for “diplomacy” in Ukraine's war with Russia had come, adding that Kiev's strong support from the West was crucial to securing serious talks.
Ukraine's allies have sent a clear signal that they will continue to support Ukraine, and the EU and US have expressed confidence that the support packages will be approved.
Ukraine and its partners have planned another meeting of the expanded advisory group in Switzerland next week, on the eve of the World Economic Forum in Davos, and have invited more than 100 countries to participate. Previous meetings were held last year in Copenhagen, Jeddah and Malta.
