According to media reports, the police cooperated with the State Protection Service in arresting Mariusz Kaminski and Maciej Vasik on Tuesday. It was the SOP, at the request of Markin Kierwinski, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration, who pointed to the room where Kaminski and Vesik were. But that's not all – the police were let into the palace by the SOP officers guarding the entrance to the building. – The consent had to be given to the head of the presidential guard of the institution and the commander of the shift, and he was given an order by one of the commanders – emphasizes the informant of Wirtualna Polska.
Moreover, the former commander of the Metropolitan Police, General Michal Domaradzki, was supposed to informally cooperate with the police arrest operation. Currently, he is the director of the Capital Security Center, which reports to the City Hall, i.e. de facto Rafal Trzaszkowski.
Kierwinski appreciates the police action
The Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration positively assessed the police activity in the presidential palace. He said the cooperation between the officers and the SOP was “perfect”.
– The police requested appropriate assistance from the SOP, and the SOP also took part in this operation, so from that point of view, the SOP acted as it should, – he said.
Kierwiński said it was difficult to arrest the PiS politicians because both “behave as if the presidential palace is some kind of sanctuary, an area that is excluded under Polish law.”
– The police must act, and they did so yesterday. The state proved to be effective, and this attempt at such anarchization, as it was an attempt by Messrs. Vasik and Kaminsky to anarchize public life, failed. And it's good that it failed, because we are all equal before the law, he said.
– The services behaved as they did (…) professionally, with full respect (…), so that the President did not show any inconvenience caused by the police. (…) Detention in his presence would be very inappropriate and insulting – he added.
