The revolution in public media began on December 20. Minister Bartlomiej Sienkiewicz dismissed the presidents of Polish Television, Polish Radio and the Polish Press Agency. The new management boards of the companies were elected by the new supervisory boards appointed by the minister. Less than an hour after the announcement of the Ministry of Culture, TVP Info and TVP3 stopped broadcasting (instead, TVP1 and TVP2 started broadcasting). A few minutes later, the station's website also disappeared. On December 27, the Minister of Culture and National Heritage decided to stage them in liquidation.

Dismissal in Polish television. The new government is writing to the trade unions
According to Wirtualne Media, the new management of Telewizja Polska has asked the trade unions operating in the company whether the mentioned people are their members or not. The Solidarity Work Committee received about 100 such questions.
– 80 percent refers to people in high positions, mainly directors, said the head of the union Bogdan Vishnevsky in an interview with the portal.
As he notes, “Inquiries about the status of an employee by unions usually precede the termination of the employee's contract.”
Similar questions, albeit on a much smaller scale, were received by the creative workers' union TVP Wizja, led by Barbara Markowska-Wojcik. They are intended mainly for directors, board advisors and television news agency staff.
Recently, the website OKO.press reported that such inquiries concern, among others: Michal Adamczyk, Samuel Pereira and Markin Tulik, who made up the previous management of TAI, by now they have been removed from their positions by the new TVP authorities.
Mass layoffs at TVP? They were assured that there would be no such thing
The head of the Solidarity Works Committee emphasizes that the scale of the questions asked by the Televska Polska authorities may indicate that significant layoffs are in the works.
– I have received assurance from the Office of Human Capital Management that the employer is not expecting mass layoffs. I write in writing that there are no plans to fire employees in this way – says Bogdan Wisniewski in an interview with Wirtualnemedia.pl. – Group layoffs have their own rules and expose the company to additional costs. We absolutely do not expect them – adds Barbara Markowska-Wojcik.
Trade unionists assume that the TVP authorities will want to phase out the resignations, and this will take at least several months. In the case of Telewizja Polska, mass layoffs can be considered when 30 people's contracts are terminated at once.
