A PiS politician mocks Holonia for returning barriers to the Sejm
“The police barriers that distort the Seim will disappear because enough of them have been placed between us – has Marshal Holonia changed his mind?” Is she no longer open to meeting everyone? – wrote Dariusz Piontkowski, MP of PiS, on the X platform. He also put his own photos in the post Barriers were again installed in front of the Sejm building.
Katarzyna Karpa-Šviderek, the speaker of the Sejm, quickly responded to the politician's mocking record. It turned out that, paradoxically, this decision was caused by the plans of the deputies of the United Right, because it was related to the security during the demonstrations planned by them on January 11 (at 16:00), i.e. March of Free Poles.
“The primary goal is the safety of demonstrators and officers during the gathering. Security protection will be installed at the request of the police and will be dismantled after the protest. The Sejm is and will be open and safe for citizens. Whether anyone likes it or not. No,” answered the speaker of Holovnia to the politician.
Gazeta.pl journalist Patrik Strzhalkowski also responded to politician Piontkowski's post. “The barriers in front of the Sejm are an unpleasant sight, but the PiS politician's criticism of them is such arrogance and hypocrisy that there are no words,” he said in the note.
We remind you that the removal of barriers from the Seimas was an important and symbolic decision made by Shimon Holonia. A few minutes after being elected as the Speaker of the Seimas. – Police barriers that distort the Sejm will disappear, because a sufficient number of these barriers are placed between us, – he said then. This gesture was seen as the beginning of a new term in which the Sejm will be open to citizens.
