Olympiakos Piraeus confidently defeated Grupa Azoty ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle 3:0 in the 5th round of the Champions League. The hero of the match was former player of Jastrzębski Wegiel – Salvador Hidalgo Oliva.
Salvador Hidalgo Oliva is a familiar figure to PlusLiga fans. Born in Leningrad in 1985, the Cuban has German citizenship. Years ago he was a player for Jastrzębski Wegiel (2016–19).

In his first season in the colors of Yastrzeb, he was one of the best volleyball players in Plusliga. In the second he performed slightly worse, and in the third he was mostly a substitute and left the club during the competition. He joined Istanbul Fenerbahce, and since 2022 he has been a player of Olympiakos.
The volleyball veteran is still in great shape. He had a great match against ZAKSA – he scored 19 points (12/22 = 55% attack efficiency + 5 service aces + 2 blocks).
