Leni Mityana was suspended for 10 years.
Tennis player Leni Mityana has been banned for 10 years for betting on matches, the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) said on Friday. In addition, the Frenchman must pay a $20,000 fine for violating the Tennis Anti-Corruption Program (TACP).
Mityana, who was ranked 458th in the ATP rankings in 2018, denied all allegations related to his performance in 2017-2018. The tennis player was associated with a group that recorded matches in Belgium. He was involved in organizing illegal bets, rigging match results, influencing other players not to play responsibly and not reporting cases of corruption. All of these actions were inconsistent with the TACP. Mityana's suspension will last until December 2033.
