Former CBA chiefs Mariusz Kaminski and Mackie Vesic stayed on Tuesday. They were arrested in the presidential palace, where they stayed at the invitation of President Andrzej Duda. PiS politicians were first taken to the police station at ul. Grenadiers, and then in the Grokhov pre-trial detention center.
On Wednesday, they were transferred to other prisons – Kaminski prison in Radom and Vesik in the town of Przytuli Stare near Ostrolenka. Before that, both politicians started a hunger strike.
After Kaminski and Vesic were arrested, law and justice politicians referred to them as “the first political prisoners in Poland since 1989”.
Collection for PiS politicians
“The income received by PIS MPs is about PLN 16,000 per month. Let us support the families of Mr. Vesic and Kaminski. Their families are praying.” – asked the organizer of the fund collection. The goal was to raise 32,000. PLN per month, that is, the amount of the total salaries of Kaminski and Vesik.
– Today we are starting a fundraising campaign for the families of Mr. Kaminski and Mr. Vesik. These are our friends. They have families and children of school age. Today, children are crying, wives are praying, said Przemysław Charnek in an interview with Radio Zet a few days ago.
However, the collection was not a success, as on Sunday we managed to collect a little more than PLN 4,000. On the other hand, the payment bar on the side of the page shows that… 0 percent has been collected.
So far, less than 500 people have donated to the fundraiser, but the collection's website shows that most donations are for PLN 1. Most of the comments posted on the website are very critical of the detainees.
