At last week's meeting, Minister of Funds and Regional Policy Katarzyna Pelczynska-Nalec and representatives of the European Commission expressed their reservations regarding the actions of Donald Tusk's government in the field of restoring the rule of law. According to EU officials, the Polish government has provided “too many high-profile assurances about restoring the rule of law and too few specifics”. Brussels wants to complement Poland's action plan not only in terms of the judicial system, but also in terms of transport and healthcare.

Brussels priorities

– Three main conditions have not yet been fulfilled: two thematic main conditions related to transport and health care and one horizontal main condition specified in the Charter of Fundamental Rights – said the representative of the European Commission in an interview with the Brussels correspondent of RMF FM.

The “horizontal condition” on which the total release of 76 billion euros from all EU funds for Poland depends is to ensure the independence of judges. In the case of transport, we are talking about the implementation of an investment plan in this industry. As for health care, Brussels calls for the development of a strategic framework for “health and long-term care policy”. The European Commission calls for these changes to be based on solid data and reliable analyses

“Not a single euro will be paid in the field of transport and healthcare until these conditions are met,” said the journalist's interlocutor, who emphasized that the allocation of funds from the cohesion funds will likely take place simultaneously. issuing money from the national reconstruction plan. This will happen in the middle of the year, although Pelczynska-Nalec assured that March-April is a realistic prospect.
