“Here we will be decisive.” Tusk spoke after the meeting with Duda

It happened on Monday at 11:00 Meeting of the President and the Prime Minister. The main topic of conversation was the issue of war and security in Ukraine. Andrzej Duda and Donald Tusk also spoke, among other things, about the case of jailed PiS politicians Maciej Wąsik and Mariusz Kamiński.

Tusk: We will restore legal order

After the meeting, Prime Minister Tusk held a press conference. By the way, the journalists asked: about the conflict due to the state media.

– For effective management, you must have a good atmosphere. Political conflicts and legal conflicts are not in the interests of Poland or the government, Tusk said, adding that he wants to work in peace.

– I emphasize once again that I have already talked about this in a conversation with the media. There is no dual legal system in Poland. I told the President, without satisfaction, that since 2015 the President has participated in the destruction of the rule of law and legal order in Poland. We will restore the supremacy of the law and the supremacy of the constitution, the head of the government said.

– Those who resist say that the tension is increasing. But this is an absurd accusation. If the restoration of basic objectivity and decency in the public media is an escalation of tension, it means (…) our political camp did not take over TVP when Jacek Kurski turned it into one of the most heinous propaganda scumbags in European history. For some reason, there was no talk of escalating tensions, as the democratic parties refrained from actions such as the occupation of television buildings, Tusk said.

– Politics is negotiation and compromise between political forces. But good politics cannot be a compromise between falsehood and truth, lawlessness and law. On the basis of law, public decency and truth in public life and public media, mutual understanding can be built, and I think it can be done with practically everyone. But anyone who questions the idea of ​​the rule of law, anyone who questions the Constitution, has to admit that we are going to restore the legal order first, whether anyone likes it or not. And here we will be decisive, said the Prime Minister.
