Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Czeslaw Siekierski and Voivode of Podkarpackie Tereza Kubas-Hul met with the farmers of “Podkarpack's lying village” on Saturday. In the afternoon, the signing of the agreement and the suspension of the protest action were announced.
The minister promised to fulfill the demands of all three farmers. The idea is to launch maize subsidies in the amount of PLN 1 million, increase liquidity loans by PLN 2.5 billion, and maintain the level of the agricultural tax at the level of 2023.
“Upon the signing of the agreement, the protest action at the Medica border crossing is suspended for the period necessary to implement legal and reference changes and for the time necessary to implement additional changes,” the agreement reads, as quoted by Polsat News.
