Since its debut, the AppStore has been one of the platforms that has largely defined mobile app stores. The company with the bitten apple logo has been rigorously testing its software for more than a decade before making it available to users. But that will change! Moreover, also in Poland!

There will be “two different” AppStores from Apple. why

The European Commission is one of the institutions that is trying to regulate the mobile market with many different legal acts. For example, we can mention the enforcement of the uniform USB-C charging standard or many very precise legal acts affecting data security, especially with reference to GDPR, better known as GDPR in Poland.

Decision makers in the European Union have once again turned to Apple. As MacRumors reports, after a long battle, Tim Cook's company decided on a rather specific form of compromise. What are its specifics?

look: A cheap Motorola 5G modem could be on sale soon. What do we know about him?

This is one of the few situations where a company that the EC expects to make a change from will make that change at the same time and… stay the same. In Europe, we will use a modified version of the AppStore that complies with EU guidelines to allow users to install software from external sources.

In other regions, including: North and South America, the Middle East and Asia, the exact same platform will work as before.

What concession did Apple make?

Contrary to popular belief, the company with the bitten apple logo is not limited to installing applications other than the AppStore. The changes cut deeper into Apple's ecosystem.

Among other things, the company should implement other external payment systems, although at the moment we do not yet know what services will appear in the finally changed AppStore.

If the European Commission really wants Apple to largely abandon its ecosystem and allow third-party platforms to enter many other areas that were previously exclusive, one of the main differentiators from the Android camp, the Cupertino company's main rival, will disappear.

The question is whether users of the Apple ecosystem are ready for such a big change… However, on the other hand, third-party tools will now only be an option, not an obligation.
