In the final, the initiative was on Carter's side almost from the beginning. The younger Englishman was leading by 4:2 or 6:3, and in the evening the favorite came to the fore. O'Sullivan first scored a draw 6:6, then outscored his opponent by two games, won 9:7, and finally won 10:7.
For O'Sullivan, this is the eighth Masters triumph in his career. The world number one has previously won this tournament in 1995, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2014, 2016 and 2017.
