On Tuesday, January 9, in the evening, the protesters appeared in front of Donald Tusk's house in Sopot and, as you can see, they are not giving up. Tonight they will also be leading demonstrations, during which chants of “down with communism” can be heard on the one hand, while on the other the protesters say they are fervently praying for Tusk “to turn it around”. This is a reaction to the arrest of Mariusz Kaminski and Maciej Vesic.






It is the second day of the protest near Tusk's house

As you already informed us in naTemat, On Tuesday, January 9, in the evening, the police arrested the former ministers of the government of law and justice.: : Mariusz Kaminski and Maciej Wąsik.




Politicians who were legally convicted of exceeding their powers while running the secret services were not initially arrested by the officers. Because they were in the presidential palace. On Monday, the Warsaw court issued an arrest warrant for both politicians.

Slogans were also heard during the rally, supporting the detained PiS politicians and even calling them heroes. “Mariusz and Macie – heroes”, “Free the political prisoners” – shouted the rally participants. The protest took place peacefully, the participants lit candles on the Sopot square and sang the Polish national anthem.

Members of PiS call on Poles to demonstrate on January 11

Tomas Rakowski, a local PiS activist, posted the protest on Facebook. He called the demonstration announced by PiS on January 11 a “protest against lawlessness” and called on people to join. We remind you that the “Protest of Free Poles” organized by PiS will start on Thursday at 18:00 before the Seimas at 16:00. Mariusz Kaminski and Maciej Wasik addressed the Poles about this issue earlier. While they were still in the presidential palace, they made a short statement and then called for a PiS rally on Thursday. Kaminsky named the people who are going to come to the rally “Decent and normal”. He also said that the convicted politicians wanted to participate in the rally on January 11. However, it is already clear that this will not happen, because they are in custody.
