The sad news about the death of the “Emperor” was told by his family to the DPA agency: “It is with deep sadness that we inform you that yesterday, Sunday, my husband and our father, Franz Beckenbauer, died peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by his family. Born on September 11, 1945 in Munich, Beckenbauer is one of the greatest players in the history of German football, winning trophies as both a player and a coach.
