A left-wing politician He spoke again on the draft law on the introduction of civil partnership. Katažina Kotula noted that despite the disagreements in the government coalition, work on this solution is still ongoing.
– We will put on the table the laws that we think are the best. We conduct social consultations, including political consultations, because today it probably does not surprise anyone when we say that there are different voices. These are mainly PSL votes, because Poland 2050, with the voice of Szymon Holownia, said that it supports such a solution as a civil partnership, which is the absolute minimum – he said on TVN24.
Civil partnership for homosexuals
The politician noted that if there is a majority in the government coalition, the draft law will be presented by the Council of Ministers. In case of opposition of PSL, proposals will be presented by a group of deputies. As Kothula said, there is “a green light to submit this bill as a parliamentary bill.”
Kothula also said that he would like the law to allow same-sex couples to form civil partnerships because “both parties are waiting for such a decision today.”
– I want civil partnerships to be possible at the civil registry office. It is symbolic that people who live in same-sex relationships, start families, raise children and run a joint household can take an important oath together at the civil registry office in front of each other, he said.
Prosecution of “hate speech”.
Before that, Kotula announced changes to the Penal Code on the “language of hate”.
In the coalition agreement, we agreed that before we continue with the law on civil partnership, hate speech based on sexual orientation and gender will be included in the Criminal Code, Equality Minister Katažina Kotula said on Polsat News on Wednesday.
