Vladislav Teofil Bartoshevsky, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs He was a guest of Polsat News, where he spoke, among other things, about Polish diplomats. The PSL politician said that there will be changes in the staffing of Polish embassies.
– This is the responsibility of Minister Sikorski. But to me, as a member of the previous term's Foreign Relations Committee and vice-chairman of that committee, it is clear that we had to approve ambassadorial candidates, people who were absolutely unfit for the role. For various reasons – lack of experience, knowledge, language skills, bad character and other things – said Władysław Teofil Bartoszewski in Polsat News.
– Some of these people are clearly not suitable for the ambassadorship of the Republic of Poland, and some of these people will be dismissed. Not all. We have about a hundred ambassadors, so by no means half of them. A certain percentage must be checked at the facility, he explained.
“This will not be a sudden process”
– I know such means that someone nominated by the PiS government, that is, nominated by Minister Rau, is a fantastic candidate for the Polish ambassador. I know some where it's embarrassing. Some names are widely known. There are people who have very rich and dishonest careers in the ministry, there are people who cannot speak the language of the country where they are accredited – continued the deputy head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Bartoszewski noted that the appeals will take place “relatively quickly, but it will not be a sudden process.” – Certain people can be brought into the country without any problems, and we will definitely discuss specific names with the president. Because you can bring any ambassador to Warsaw, but you cannot take away the title of ambassador. This is decided by the president. I think that in many cases we will be able to reach an agreement with the president on this matter,” the deputy minister concluded.
