The last few days were difficult for “Republica TV”. First, a wave of indignation was caused by the words of Jan Pietrzak, who spoke on television about the actions of the German government regarding the reception of illegal migrants. – The Germans hope that the Poles will be ready, because we have barracks. We have barracks for immigrants in Auschwitz, Majdanek, Treblinka, Štutovo. Here we have many barracks built by the Germans, said Pietrzak.

Then, publicist Marek Krol on “Repubblica TV” suggested that migrants arriving in Europe should be “chipped” or tattooed with numbers. On the other hand, Marek Jakubiak He compared migrants to “unnecessary waste”.

FAZ comments on the situation

The popular German newspaper “Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung” responded to this case. The newspaper emphasizes that when it comes to museums, Poland has always had a lot to offer. In recent years, the Auschwitz Memorial has become one of the most popular sites, with more than a million and a half visitors each year.

“Now the singer and lyricist has put Auschwitz – and above all at the expense of Auschwitz itself – on the front pages of the newspapers,” reads Gerhard Gnauck's Friday edition of FAZ.

The journalist adds that the television “without conviction” distanced itself from Pietrzak's words. “For his part, the liberal Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that the outrage over the appearance of this spectacle was completely justified and that the fate of Mr. Pietrzak's family had nothing to do with it, and any connection with these matters was absurd,” we read.

Gnauck adds that Pietrzak was a bard of freedom in the 1980s, and today he has turned into a supporter of the “extreme right.” The journalist does not specify what he means by this term.
