On Tuesday, it was reported in the media that Krzysztof Glowacki (32-4, 20 KO) was caught using doping substances during his fight with Richard Riakporhe (17-0, 13 KO). The former WBO World Cruiserweight Champion decided to comment on this matter. He published an extensive statement on the social network.
“In light of the reports of doping, I feel obliged to issue a statement, mainly to my fans. I have not used banned substances in my entire career. (…) A few months after the fight with the Englishman, I read an email with trace amounts of boldenone metabolite in the urine sample. About the discovery. (…) Sample B has never been tested and I have not conducted any other tests. In conclusion, I would like to emphasize once again that I have never knowingly taken any prohibited substance and I want to make this clear. (…)” – writes “Glovka” Below is the full text of the announcement.
1. McGregor announced his comeback. We know the date, place and name of the opponent
We remind you that the fighter from Valos was disqualified from boxing for four years. Boldenone, which was found in his body, is an anabolic steroid that is injected intramuscularly. The substance contributes to the development of muscle mass and physical strength. The agent in Glowacki was discovered in early 2023 during the fight against Riakpore in Manchester. The Englishman won the fight by TKO in the fourth round.
After this fight, the 37-year-old decided to end his boxing adventure and move to MMA. He made his mixed debut in early June at the KSW Collosseum II gala at PGE Narodowy. Then, spectacularly, he defeated Patrik Tolkachevsky in the first round. Glowacki hit the opponent with a left hook while lying on his back.
It should be emphasized that the four-year disqualification imposed on “Glovka” applies only to boxing matches. Nothing prevents him from continuing his MMA career. It's possible we'll see him back in the KSW cage soon.
