DoRzeczy.pl: You said that you are a “TVP correspondent in liquidation”. What does this mean and what is your position in public television?
Cesar Gmizi: This means that I did not receive the salary for December and I did not receive a one-time payment for the operation of the foreign branch. A lump sum from which I pay for my office, apartment and car. I paid for everything with my own funds, which means I'm seriously overdrafted. In my opinion, this has the character of economic violence and mobbing.
Have you received information before that your contract will be terminated?
No. I saw a new correspondent on TV. No one has contacted me about the termination of the employment contract. Basically, I need to get funding to get the facility up and running before Christmas. He hasn't received anything yet. I finance the work of the television branch from the debit.
What will be your next steps for TVP?
I am currently in contact with lawyers. We will decide on the next steps tonight.
How do you rate the takeover of TVP?
I have the impression that someone here is acting in the interests of the Televisa Polska competition, which is quite a strong competition. I mean commercial media. This is a real problem because the issue of media takeover puts TVP in a very bad position and threatens to lose liquidity.
By the way, we are watching the attack on Telewizja Republika. Is it simply about eliminating the right-wing media in Poland?
I'm afraid it might be.
