Andriy Pyshny, Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) from October 2022, was awarded the title of “Banker of the Year 2024” as the best central bank governor in Europe and the world. The British magazine “The Banker” annually awards the title to the heads of central banks who have managed to stabilize their country's economy and stimulate its growth.

“Banker”: Credits are delicious

Among the main contributions of the National Bank of Ukraine, the magazine highlighted the maintenance of economic stability of Ukraine, despite. The Power Banking program was also mentioned, which aims at the sustainable operation of banks in conditions of long-term power outages.

Andrey Pizny will become the head of the NBU in 2022. He has 17 years of banking experience, most of which was spent at the State Savings Bank of Ukraine, Oschadbank. From 2003 to 2007, he was the first vice-president of the management board of Oschadbank and was its president.

Pizny also currently serves as part of the Yermak-McFaul Panel on Sanctions Against Russia.

NBU was established by the Verkhovna Rada decision of March 20, 1991.
