In the atmosphere of emotions, fear and haste, a change occurred in the so-called public media. The spectacular fall of PiS propagandists has prompted a review of the temporary reconstruction of the TVP.
Euphoria after the elections. After all, Donald Tusk announced a crackdown on propaganda 24 hours after coming to power. But suddenly everyone is speechless. Who might really know something: Jan Grabiec, Jan Dvorak, Krzysztof Luft or Prof. Tadeusz Kowalski – they are silent because no one knows the details of the planned public media repair by the opposition. Joanna Scheuring-Wilgus, a member of the board of the left-wing TVP program, warns that a change in the TVP is unrealistic in the short term. It encourages you to sit down and come up with new solutions. “Immediately. No one talks about this issue with future coalition partners. “The opposition is making a colossal mistake,” he warns.
“We still have plenty of time”
The opposition leaders are busy with big politics. Appointment of positions in the government and coalition agreement are carried out. At the time, no one confirmed that preparations were underway or underway to take over TVP. With one exception: – the work on the graphics of the main news programs started in October – says one of our interlocutors. There is silence on the other side of the ditch. “There is a comforting rumor in the corridors of TVP: we still have a lot of time, we will not be touched until the end of the current RMN (until 2028 – editor's note),” wrote the right-wing media.
But soon TVP Info calls out to its viewers: “Opposition plans to attack free media.” Krzysztof Chabanski, head of the National Media Council, speaks about “lawlessness”. PiS media propagandists, including: Michal Adamczyk, Samuel Pereira, Dorota Kania and Wojciech Surmac, warn in an open letter about claims of “political purges”, revenge, bans from the profession and practices “taken directly from martial law”. They warn that “the political forces that consider themselves the winners of the elections intend to completely eliminate freedom of speech and pluralism in Poland.”
At the same time, PiS constantly assures the Poles that it won the elections, after all, it won the greatest support, but “fragmented opposition forces gathered against Poland”.
