then Initial statements Regarding cooperation, which was expressed by both President Andrzej Duda and Prime Minister Donald Tusk, the relationship between the Presidential Palace and the Prime Minister's Office has been significantly intensified. All this is due to a number of controversial actions of the government in relation to the public media and the prosecutor's office. However, the straw that broke the camel's back was the arrest of Mariusz Kaminski and Maciej Vesic, which took place during the president's absence at his headquarters in Krakowski Przedmieski in Warsaw.
– This situation is difficult for me both legally and personally. I know the gentlemen well. Mr. Kaminsky for 18 years. I had the honor and pleasure of working with him, I can safely say that he is my friend, he is a transparent and reliable person, – said Andrzej Duda about the beginning of the case of amnesty of arrested PiS politicians.
The President stated that he is categorically opposed to the attempts of the current government to violate the Constitution.
Kvashnevsky: New elections are needed
Controversy over the powers of the president, primarily in terms of appointing judges and applying the pardon law, may mean that cooperation between Andrzej Duda and the government will be in serious trouble. According to Alexander Kvashnevsky, this will have the greatest impact on the functioning of the state. Because of this, the former president is demanding early elections. Kwasniewski believes that the government coalition won even more votes, which will allow it to overcome Andrzej Duda's veto.
– If indeed all laws, all proposals of the parliamentary majority and the government are blocked by the president through veto, we will find ourselves in a state of very deep paralysis of the state. A crisis from which, in my opinion, there is only one way out – said Kvashnevsky on TOK FM radio.
“Then the ruling majority should demand early elections and declare that under such conditions it cannot fulfill its mandate and needs at least so many mandates in the parliament to reject the presidential veto,” he added.
