The new management of Telewizja Polska resumed TVP Info broadcasting on Friday, December 29 at 19:30 – after a nine-day break. The channel's news services focus on balance in presenting the opinions of politicians from the government and opposition camps. However, politicians do not appear on current affairs programs. – This is just the beginning – experts emphasize.

On December 29, at the end of the daily “19.30” (broadcast on both TVP 1 and TVP Info), host Joanna Dunikowska-Paž announced that after a nine-day break, the TVP Info signal was permanently on. That evening, the “19.30” service ended with a conversation with General Waldemar Skripchak about the missile that fell on the territory of Poland. After two questions, the interview was broadcast only on TVP Info on a channel called Publicystyka. At the break, a new TV intro was introduced with a slightly changed logo.
The interview ended at 20:14. Then Yaroslav Kulchytsky appeared in the studio, greeted the audience and said that during the last eight years TVP Info did not adhere to the principles of impartiality and this will change in the near future.

The first topic was the case of a Russian missile on the territory of Poland. The direct connection was with Markin Antosiewicz, who welcomed the audience with the following words: “I am glad that now we will start to create a new good public media practice.”
20 minute service
Currently, TVP Info broadcasts 20-minute newscasts every hour. Among others, they consist of: materials that are also used in the program “19.30”. They show an effort to present the opinions of the government and the opposition in a balanced way, but often only quote from politicians' posts on social networks. Journalistic sections will be broadcast. In the morning and evening, they do not include the presence of politicians, commentators are experts and journalists from various media.
The creators of the new TVP Info have not yet managed to fill the entire schedule with information and journalism. That is why documentary and educational films are shown during the day.

News broadcasts from TVP headquarters at ul. Woronicza in Warsaw and not – as before – from the headquarters of the TV News Agency in Powstańców Warszawy Square, where there are adapted and equipped studios for creating such formats.
Pieczynski: There are some experts who speak well
Former editor-in-chief of “Fakty” TVN Adam Pieczynski points out that it is difficult to ensure appropriate quality without access to appropriate technical solutions. – Without technology, there is no news television that broadcasts several hours a day. It's like a competitor starting a ski jumping competition without skis, Pieczynski says. – Therefore, it is still difficult to evaluate the new TVP information. I wish them well. I just don't know if the rule of inviting politicians to the studio was introduced out of necessity or not, because not all politicians want to appear on this channel. In the long run, it may be difficult to invite only experts to current affairs programs. There aren't many experts who can speak on television, Pieczynski points out.
Mrozovsky: Politicians and activists are needed
– It is appropriate to calm down this channel, because TVP Info has been broadcasting hate programs for almost eight years – says Prof. Maciej Mrozowski, media expert from SWPS University. He emphasizes that it is too early to judge the new version of TVP Info. In his opinion, the channel would not exist without politicians.
– During discussions, experts can generalize everything in such a way that they reach a common opinion and present ideal solutions. However, we need the voices of politicians and social activists who deal with the problems in practice and pay attention not only to theory. On the other hand, there are too many politicians in the Polish media. Debates are not often held in programs with their participation, because it turns into a joke – says Prof. Mrozovsky.
