In recent weeks, there has been a real revolution in public media. On December 27, the Minister of Culture and National Heritage Bartlomiej Sienkiewicz decided to stage them. in liquidation. A week earlier, Minister Sienkiewicz dismissed the presidents of Polish Television, Polish Radio and the Polish Press Agency. The new management boards of the companies were elected by the new supervisory boards appointed by the minister. Less than an hour after the announcement of the Ministry of Culture, TVP Info and TVP3 stopped broadcasting (instead, TVP1 and TVP2 started broadcasting). A few minutes later, the station's website also disappeared. The role of TVP Info was quickly taken over by Telewizja Republika, which from Wednesday, December 20 broadcasts special sections on the takeover of public media lasting several hours a day.

New Republic TV. Former TVP stars appeared in it

On Thursday, Telewizja Republika's self-advertisement appeared online. It features all of the station's biggest stars that could be seen on Telewizja Polska until recently. A short video, by the way, promotes: the program “Let's go!” Michał Rachoń or “Dzisiaj” news service with Danuta Holecka.

The audience of “Dziiazh” TV company has increased 30 times


Republic TV records a record increase in viewers. According to the Nielsen Audience Measurement report obtained by Wirtualne Media, TV Republika – “Dziage” news service was watched by an average of 424,000 people in the period from December 20, 2023 to January 9, 2024. spectators. This is 31 times more than in the previous long-term period.

“For comparison, from January 1 to December 19, 2023, an average of 14,000 people followed the website of “Dziiazh” on the TV company “Republica” (…). In 4+, the audience of the website increased by 31 times and the market share – by 25 times” – we read on Wirtualnemedia.pl.
