Rafal Patira had a contract with TVP Sport channel until the end of December last year. However, the new government is not going to extend it. The journalist was also not among the presenters of “Teleexpress”, which returns to the air today. The new version of the program is led by Maciej Orłości and Aleksandra Kostrzewska, who return to TVP after many years.
A few days ago, Patira shared a video showing how he was unable to enter the Teleexpress headquarters because his access card stopped working. “Another day without “Teleexpress”. The editorial door is closed…” Rafal Patira writes on Instagram.
before that Rafal Patira spoke in defense of media freedom. His comment was on the changes made in the public media announced by the new government. Patira emphasized that “a free media is the foundation of democracy,” which is why it's important to have “different voices from different sides.” The journalist emphasized that Telewizja Polska “talks to the audience with an open text, which is true, not only presented in Polish, but which also takes care of Polish interests”. – It would be better for Poland and Poles if Telewizja Polska simply remains unchanged. Polish television is and should be for Poles, it does not follow foreign interests, it does not lobby private interests or foreign powers. Unfortunately, such lobbying often occurs in commercial media, he said.
“Teleexpress” and Orłości
Yesterday, Orłości published a post on the X platform (formerly Twitter). He said that “Teleexpress” is returning to TVP1 after a two-week break. The new edition with his participation will be broadcast today at 17:00. The journalist disappeared from Polish television almost 8 years ago. Orłości also published a photo from the new studio taken during the rehearsals of the new version of the program.
