On December 27, the Minister of Culture and National Heritage decided… Liquidation of Polish Television, Polish Radio and Polish Press Agency. A week earlier, Bartlomiej Sienkiewicz dismissed the presidents of TVP, PR and PAP. The new management boards of the companies were elected by the new supervisory boards appointed by the minister. Less than an hour after the announcement of the Ministry of Culture, TVP Info and TVP3 stopped broadcasting (instead, TVP1 and TVP2 started broadcasting).

Most of the journalists and presenters of the “old” Polish television will no longer appear on TVP. As reported by Jacek Gądek from Gazeta.pl, Marek Sierok has been fired from Telewizja Polska. This information was confirmed by a music journalist. – I will definitely rest, I have no plans yet. I will focus on the radio. This is my job – Sieroki said in an interview with “Fakt” newspaper.
The news about the dismissal of Marek Sierok from TV Polsk caused a wave of comments. However, the general director of TVP shed new light on this issue. – Marek Sierok was not fired from TVP. We talked and made an appointment after the New Year. Sierocki's potential and extensive experience as an editor will definitely be used in public television, Tomasz Sigut said in an interview with Wirtualnemedia.pl.
Who is Marek Sierok?
Marek Sierok is a well-known journalist and presenter, as well as the artistic director of Polish music festivals. He made his television debut in the 1980s as a musical illustrator (playing the accordion) in the Polygon program of the main editorial office of the Polish People's Republic of Military Programs. Since the mid-1980s, he has been the music presenter of “Teleexpress”. He ran a music corner where new albums and songs by Polish and foreign artists were presented.
In recent years, he has commented on the semi-finals and finals of Eurovision and Junior Eurovision and hosted many concerts organized by TVP. In 2013, President Bronisław Komorowski awarded him the Golden Cross of Honor for “contribution to the development of public television” and “achievements in professional and social activities”.
