Švitek and Hurkač had two opportunities to play doubles together during this edition of the United Cup. And in both cases they still looked good, as evidenced by two wins without dropping a set. In the third event, Katarzyna Peter and Jan Zielinski had a chance, defeating China's Xiaodi You and Fajing Sun in three games.

Doubles Garcia – Roger-Vasselin also did very well, winning all three matches – including the one that decided the semi-final against Norway.

About United Cup
At the United Cup, 18 teams were divided into six groups of three teams. Groups A (with Poland), C and E played in Perth, the rest were in Sydney. The group winners advanced to the quarter-finals, as did one of the best runners-up in either city.
Poland won all matches in the group, beating Brazil and Spain. Then, in the quarter-finals, Schwitek and Hurkac won their matches first, and then the mixed team of Peter/Zielinski defeated the Chinese duo and the red-whites advanced to the semi-finals.
On Thursday, the French team defeated the Norwegian team, thanks to which it reached the semi-finals of the prestigious tournament.
