On Thursday, the Extraordinary Control and Public Affairs Chamber of the Supreme Court annulled the decision of the Speaker of the Seimas Szymon Hołownia regarding the expiration of the mandate of MP Maciej Wąsik.
Szydlo: The Marshal of the Sejm is not responsible for commenting on verdicts
A real storm broke out on the Polish political scene. Both sides of the dispute accuse each other of the illegality of the actions taken and make accusations of a strictly political nature.

Holovnia: I am waiting for the answer of the Labor Chamber of the Supreme Court
After the announcement of the decision, a press conference was held, at which expressed his positionSpeaker of the Seimas Shimon Holunia invited.
– We received such a letter, but I could not get its justification. I do not know on what basis the Chamber of Extraordinary Control and Public Affairs took the decision to terminate the mandate and remove it from circulation. (…) I, as the Marshal of the Sejm, sent my correspondence to the Chamber of Labor and Social Insurance of the Supreme Court and I am waiting for the answer of the Chamber of Labor and Social Insurance of the Supreme Court – in both cases. I sent it to this ward. I would like him to take a position on this issue, Holonia said at the briefing.
– If I hear that the Chamber of Labor and its President have come to the conclusion that they believe this is not the proper place to discuss this and will therefore refer it to the Chamber of Extraordinary Control and Public Affairs, I would like to know about it. “That's because, as the sender of the correspondence, I want to be sure that if I send Kowalski, I'll get a response from Kowalski, and not Novak, who speaks completely in plain text,” he said.
Earlier, in connection with the sentencing of the deputies by the court, Marshal Holonia gave the issue of the expiration of the parliamentary mandate Mariusz Kaminski and Maciej Wąsik of the Labor and Social Insurance Chamber of the Supreme Court.
The application was submitted to the Audit Chamber of the Supreme Court after Supreme Court Judge Romuald Dalewski, who was supposed to hear Vesic's appeal to the Labor Chamber about the termination of the Sejm Speaker's decision, independently decided to postpone the proceedings.
In turn, the President of the Labor Chamber of the Supreme Court, Prof. Piotr Prusinowski commented that this decision is wrong because a panel of three was appointed to consider the case.
Convicted MPs
In December, the former head of the CBA and the former Minister of Internal Affairs, Mariusz Kaminski, and his former deputy, Maciej Wąsik, were sentenced to two years in prison for the so-called Land scandal.
PiS politicians do not recognize the court verdict. Both They appealed to the Supreme Court.
