The revolution in public media began on December 20. The Minister of Culture and National Heritage, Bartlomiej Sienkiewicz, dismissed the presidents of Polish Television, Polish Radio and the Polish Press Agency. The new management boards of the companies were elected by the new supervisory boards appointed by the minister. On December 27, Sienkiewicz decided to establish TVP, PR and PAP in liquidation.

The Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights claims that “initiating changes in public media raises serious legal questions.” PiS politicians talk about an “attack on the media”.

TVP. Another wave of layoffs?

Most of Telewizja Polska's journalists will no longer appear on TVP.

As Portal Pressa reports, the “new government” of the TVP is asking the trade unions for several dozen employees, which may be the beginning of another wave of layoffs. “This is a group of 60-70 people,” it was noted.

Demands against trade unions active in Telewizja Polska, among others, Michał Adamczyk, Samuel Pereira and Marcin Tulicki, as well as advisers to the management board and foreign correspondents. They also received questions about fired directors, including Philip Styczynski (who headed TVP World), Piotr Kierzkowski (who headed TVP3), Markin Scabara (he was deputy director of the programming office) and Robert Malinowski (he was deputy director of TVP's advertising office). as well as former heads of local branches, including Marcin Szypszak, Ryszard Montusiewicz, Jozef Matus and Piotr Dziemiaczuk.

– In the surveys we receive, the company asks if the trade union represents the person in question. The employer does not indicate why he needs this information, Bogdan Wisniewski, head of NSZZ “Solidarność”, told the Press portal on TVP. He added that inquiries are most often received when the employee intends to terminate the employment contract.
