At the United Tennis Cup held in Australia, Poland defeated China and reached the quarterfinals. The Whites and Reds won thanks to singles wins from Iga Švetek and Hubert Hurkac.
First, Hurkach defeated Zhizhen Zhang 6:3, 6:4, and then Schwitek defeated Qinwen Zheng 6:2, 6:3. The mixed martial arts competition no longer mattered.

At the United Cup, 18 teams were divided into six groups of three teams. Groups A (with Poland), C and E played in Perth, the rest were in Sydney. The group winners will advance to the quarter-finals, as will one of the best runners-up in each city.
Group competition is still ongoing in Sydney, so Poland will meet their semi-final opponents on Thursday.
The team, led by Swichtek coach, captain Tomasz Wiktorovski, includes: Katarzyna Kava, Katarzyna Peter, Daniel Michalski and Jan Zielinski.
In the previous United Cup draw, Poland reached the semi-finals, where they lost to the USA.
