Prosecutor Mateusz Havrus, who was delegated to the regional prosecutor's office in Szczecin, wrote one sentence verbatim to justify his decision: “There are insufficient data to justify the suspicion of committing an act.”

The decision was made on December 5, 2023, just two days after Donald Tusk's new government was formed.

Some people involved in the case, including the victims themselves, have not even been questioned, and journalists note that nothing has been done to advance the investigation in recent years.
