Polish TV news reporters talk about what is happening behind the scenes

In an interview with Wirtualnemedia.pl, “19:30” journalists talked about the behind the scenes of the creation of the program.

– On the first day, we worked in rather spartan conditions, but we tried our best in an inappropriate place for TV news preparation – says reporter Witold Tabaka, who previously worked at, among others, TVN 24, TVP and Polish Radio. – On Saturday, we received information that we would not be able to leave the building on Voronitsa Street for an hour and no one could enter. (…) It turned out that someone entered one of the TVP buildings, but we could not. I can't see exactly who. We were informed that the situation was not dangerous, but it might endanger the broadcasting of the program and therefore the building was closed. It makes us feel like we are on the battlefield – he said in an interview with Wirtualnemedia.pl.

– The stress is extreme. The first three days, when I was preparing materials for “19:30”, I slept maybe two or three hours. There is so much adrenaline that it is difficult to calm down even after the show is over. Technical issues only add to the stress, especially when you don't have access to the materials you need until around 7pm. After this first broadcast, even our editor Pavel Pluska could not hide his emotion. He was so stressed that he had to vent and was emotional about the college we had after being released. We all felt the same, added Witold Tabaka.

For his part, Mateusz Lachowski, a foreign correspondent known for his reports in Ukraine for TVN 24 and Polsat News, emphasized that there is a good atmosphere in readmission. – We are under a lot of pressure due to technical problems. We don't work under normal conditions, we don't have a big newsroom, nor an archive, but we manage, he admitted.

Sandra Meunier also commented behind the scenes of TVP's new “Wiadomości”. – The profession of a journalist requires the ability to adapt to different conditions. The first release of the program was quite a challenge, primarily for technological reasons. However, everyone is so motivated that the show aired and despite the difficulties, we continue,” he said.
