On Tuesday evening, a two-month-old girl was admitted to the Zgorzelets hospital with a fractured skull. The child was bitten by a bull terrier dog.
Commissioner Agnieszka Gogul, spokesperson of the regional police headquarters in Zgorzelets, said that the dog attacked the child on Tuesday. 16 – at the child's place of residence. – A few weeks old girl was brought to a local hospital with bite wounds. The child's injuries were so severe that they could not be saved and police were notified by doctors just after 6pm on Tuesday, the spokesman said. According to him, the police is investigating the circumstances under the supervision of the prosecutor's office.
The investigation is not ongoing against anyone, but the prosecutor's office emphasizes the case. – The bull terrier dog belonged to the family. He ended up in a shelter. An autopsy of the child's body is planned for the near future, said Tomáš Polovski, a spokesman for the Yeleniya Gora District Prosecutor's Office.
At the moment, for the purpose of investigation, the police is not releasing additional information.
Dramatic story of a doctor
– The condition of the bitten child was serious. The girl came to us in an unconscious state, with a damaged skull and broken bones, reported Marcin Wolski, deputy director of the Zgorzelets hospital, in an interview with Polsat News. The doctor said that he had never experienced such a terrible sight in his entire professional career. – This spectacle was a great trauma. United teams fought for 1.5 hours: anesthesiologist, surgeon, rescuers. We all hoped it would have a positive effect, said the doctor.
