In connection with the 5th anniversary of the tragic death of the mayor of Gdańsk, the event “Light for Pawel Adamowicz” was organized. Not only the family members of Pavel Adamovich, but also politicians of the civil platform, including: Prime Minister Donald Tusk, take part in it. During his speech, the head of the government talked a lot about the fight against hatred and dispute resolution.
– We gathered in our and my beloved city to remind all of Poland and Europe of this tragic event. The reason for our meeting is the tragic death and brutal attack on the President of Gdańsk, Pawel Adamowicz, Tusk said.
Great question
As the prime minister said, the late president certainly wants everyone in Gdańsk and Poland to be “smiling”. However, as he continued, “it's not easy.” Still, everyone who meets each year to commemorate a politician who died tragically should “think about the future,” as Adamowitz would have it.
Tusk also said that the president's tragic and senseless death “gave a very deep meaning to the belief that 'Gdańsk and all of Poland can and should be a place for people who have freed themselves from contempt and hatred.'
– Dear Pavel, my friend, President, we are faithful to this oath. I want to tell you, Paul will definitely tell us this today. We can't rest. Today we all face the big question of where our nation will go. Today, all Poles are facing this big question, continued Tusk.
– Whether or not we succumb to contempt and hatred, lies, we will once again overcome this dramatic moment in the history of our country, and the legacy of Pavel Adamovich, because we have the right to talk about this great legacy, will be stronger. than the evil that has spread in our country in recent years? Motherland, – he added.
Tusk also promised that he will not rest until “we are sure that Poland, the Polish nation, will be freed from hatred and hatred, from lies.”
