On Thursday, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Czeslaw Siekierski, handed over the act of appointment to the new head of the agency. Previously, Halina Szymanska was the president of ARiMR.
Who is Wojciech Legaviec?
Wojciech Legawiec was born on January 16, 1975 in Kielce. For years he was associated with Busko, where he managed Busko-Zdrój Spa as President of the Management Board from 2010-2019.
In recent years, he headed the Mazowiecky Specialist Health Center. Professor Jan Mazurkiewicz in Pruszkow, commonly known as the Tvork Psychiatric Hospital.
However, Legaviets has experience in the structures of ARiMR, where he worked in 2003-2007. Before that, since 2001, he was an adviser to Czeslaw Siekierski, who is currently the Minister of Agriculture.
ARMiR has a new boss
The Agency for Agricultural Restructuring and Modernization (ARiMR) was established in 1994 to support agriculture and rural development. ARiMR has been appointed by the government as an accredited paying agency. It implements instruments co-financed from the EU budget and provides support from national funds.
The agency, as an implementer of agricultural policy, closely cooperates with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. ARiMR is also under the supervision of the Ministry of Finance in the field of state funds management.
The Agency for Restructuring and Modernization of Agriculture is managed by the President, who is appointed by the Prime Minister at the request of the Minister of Agriculture and the Minister of Agriculture and the Minister of Finance. The structure of ARiMR is on three levels – headquarters, 16 regional branches (one branch per voivodeship) and 314 district offices.
