According to press reports, PiS politicians, including President Jaroslaw Kaczynski, are trying to convince President Andrzej Duda to send the budget bill back to the Constitutional Tribunal. The Constitutional Tribunal found the budget unconstitutional, and this could even be an argument for the dissolution of the parliament and the announcement of new elections.
Tusk on the dissolution of the parliament: it seems completely unlikely to me
When asked about these speculations at a press conference held on Wednesday, Tusk replied: – For one obvious reason, it seems completely unlikely to me. President Duda's political camp today is the last people who should care about faster elections.
– I am not a naive optimist and I always carefully try to determine and evaluate the mood, but if it happens that the president allows such violations of the law on the order of Kaczynski, in order to dissolve the parliament and get to the elections, I think. They will regret it in the future, much worse than on October 15, – said the Prime Minister.
– I don't think such scenarios exist in the head of the president. That seems very unlikely to me, so I try not to think about it. If we are talking about sending the budget bill to the Constitutional Tribunal, it will be an inconvenience for the people, Tusk added.
The budget of the Constitutional Tribunal? “I would advise the president. People will be angry”
He argued that “any decision of this type will be a loss to those who are waiting for a decision to be made as a result of this law or the budget act in general.” – I would not recommend it, Mr. President. People will just get angry, those who just expect money from both actions. I will warn you not to play on people's emotions and nerves, because this is not happening, said the head of government.
He added that the government's draft budget is “broader”. – We will do it one way or another. And Mr. President will no longer have doubts, because the proposals he included in his project will be absorbed and consumed by the government project, Tusk said.
