Donald Tusk suddenly turned directly to Kaczynski
The first New Year session of the Council of Ministers was held on Wednesday. Donald Tusk After the meeting with the ministers, he held a press conference, during which he spoke about the activities of his government and answered the journalists' questions.
One of the journalists raised this issue Mariusz Kaminski and Maciej Wąsik. We remind you that at the end of the year, the Warsaw District Court issued a decision regarding the actions of former MPs in the so-called Land scandal in 2007. The politicians were sentenced to two years in prison.
As we wrote in naTematThe punishment imposed on the former deputies by the legally binding decision of the district court should be executed by the end of the day at the latest. This was confirmed by Roman Giertich.
Donald Tusk, on the other hand, said: – We are dealing with people who, according to the court's verdict, used their authority unacceptably to the detriment of the people.
And he added: – We have a man who recently ruled Poland and says that we must punish judges who dared to punish his colleagues who clearly abused their power and thereby harmed the people.
The “man” mentioned by the Prime Minister is Jaroslaw Kaczynski. The right wing creates a narrative that Kaminski and Vesik will be “political prisoners”.
Donald Tusk: It's over, Yaroslav, and it's never coming back
– It is impossible to create a clearer definition of Kaczynski's mind than he speaks about himself – commented Tusk and emphasized: – I have no doubt that the president of PiS – what is good, what is bad, who. Who should be punished, who should be pardoned – only he and the party leaders can decide.
Then the head of the civil platform turned directly to Jaroslaw Kaczynski. – I have information for him: it is over, Yaroslav, and he will never return – he assured.
This model of governing Poland and the Poles, of a man who imagines the rule of law as such – with justice always on his side – is truly over.
As we wrote in naTemat, the last hope of Vasik and Kaminski is Andrzej Duda. The president must act quickly if he wants to help his colleagues avoid criminal charges. RMF FM reports that the President is ready to issue another pardon.
“Duda wants to throw them a lifeline. He will sign a letter confirming the amnesty for two PiS politicians, which de facto means re-pardoning Mariusz Kaminski and Maciej Vesic,” RMF FM reports.
However, these are unofficial reports. In official communications, the president's people say the first pardon law is still in effect. According to them, if the former ministers are imprisoned, Duda will raise an alarm on an international scale that there are political prisoners in Poland.
