The revolution in public media began on December 20. Minister Bartlomiej Sienkiewicz dismissed the presidents of Polish Television, Polish Radio and the Polish Press Agency. The new management boards of the companies were elected by the new supervisory boards appointed by the minister. Less than an hour after the announcement of the Ministry of Culture, TVP Info and TVP3 stopped broadcasting (instead, TVP1 and TVP2 started broadcasting). A few minutes later, the station's website also disappeared. On December 27, the Minister of Culture and National Heritage decided to stage them in liquidation.
Today we already know that most of the journalists of Telewizja Polska will no longer appear on TVP. The media, on the other hand, spreads more Bringing famous names back to public media, who bid them farewell in the time of law and justice. After the public media was taken over by the new government, the following people disappeared from the TVP antennas: Anna Popek, Krzysztof Ziemietz, Monika Borkowska and Magdalena Ogorek.
Magdalena Ogorek lost another job
Magdalena Ogorek worked not only at TVP, but also hosted programs on Polish radio – Jedynka and regional stations – in Kozalin, Opole, Bydgoszcz and earlier also in Szczecin. Once a week, his “talk of the day” was also broadcast on PiK radio.
His last interview with the latter radio station was on January 3 and he has not appeared this week. On Wednesday, January 10, at 9:00 a.m., listeners could listen to the speech of Michal Jedryka and Robert Langowski, councilor of the Civic Coalition from Bydgoszcz. The journalist did not personally come to Bydgoszcz, where the station is located, he conducted conversations by phone.
Now it turns out that Magdalena Ogorek no longer broadcasts on Radio PiK.
A sad comment from an employee of Radio PiK
– We really don't regret it, it didn't bring us fame, and I think listeners prefer to go to church to listen to a priest or to a rally to find out what PiS politicians think. We don't even know him because he wasn't here – said an anonymous employee of Radio PiK in an interview with Wirtualne Media.
Magdalena Ogorek started cooperation with Radio PiK in 2020.
The interlocutor of the website also admitted that other journalists of Radio PiK are afraid of their positions.
– We worry about our work. We know that in this moment anything can happen and any of us can lose it. Many of us know that we succumbed to ideological demands, but we had no choice, he said.
